Adjustable dumbbells can be incredibly useful in the home gym, but the need to manually adjust the weight can be a pain when you’re trying to keep your heart rate up in the middle of a workout. The NordicTrack badge from iFit may have a solution: Get Alexa to do the work. The brand introduced iSelect adjustable dumbbells that can use a third-party Alexa-enabled device to quickly adjust weight from 5 pounds to 50 pounds (5 pound increments) using a motorized limiter. You can set exact weights, adjust weight in relative amounts, or call up presets for typical workouts like biceps and deadlift.
It’s no surprise dumbbells play well with the $39 per month iFit fitness subscription, but you don’t need a membership. There is also a tablet stand on the weight tray to allow you to use your monitor and service. This may make sense if space is at a premium, or if you’d rather not use the TV.
NordicTrack dumbbells are now available on Amazon for $429. This is expensive compared to many traditional adjustable kits, but you might not mind if the speed of the adjustments is more important than the price. We’d like to add that some adjustable sets don’t offer this level of flexibility – changes of 5lbs can help you lighten heavier weights over time.
