Apple is reportedly bringing an AR communications official into the Meta for its highly anticipated wearable launch

When it comes to virtual reality, Facebook is no stranger to this front with its Oculus offerings. In fact, the company rebranded itself to Meta not too long ago as a way of indicating the company’s plans for a future where they could build their own metaverse.

However, it appears that Apple managed to persuade a Meta executive to join the Cupertino company. This is according to Mark Gurman’s latest Power On newsletter where he revealed that Apple has hired the head of augmented reality communications at Meta, Andrea Schubert.

Although it is not 100% confirmed what Schubert will do at Apple, the fact that she played a role in the augmented reality division of the Meta indicates that she will play a similar role at Apple. There have been rumors that Apple is preparing to announce its mixed reality headset which could debut as soon as next year.

It’s been rumored for years that Apple might develop its own mixed reality headset, and that one day we might see Apple trying augmented reality glasses, which some believe may one day replace the iPhone. It will be a huge challenge for Apple because other companies like Google have tried similar devices in the past, but only failed, so it will be interesting to see if Apple can succeed where Google failed.
