Don’t worry if you missed an earlier deal for the 2021 Apple iPad. Amazon is selling the 64GB iPad for $299, or $30 off the usual price. The 256 GB version recently dropped by a similar amount to $449. That matches a previous discount at Walmart and Amazon, and is currently the lowest price we’ve seen for Apple’s latest 10.2-inch listing. Just don’t worry about color choices or shipping times – it appears that only Space Gray models are in stock, and you’ll have to wait about three weeks for them to be delivered.

The basic design of the iPad hasn’t changed much in recent years, but the upgrades under the hood have been especially noticeable this year. The tablet now uses the A13 Bionic chip that’s said to be 20 percent faster than the previous iPad, making it better suited for gaming or creative tasks. This might also be a good choice for the era of remote work and virtual friend visits, as the 12MP ultra-wide front camera offers a Center Stage feature to keep you in full view while you’re on the go.

Just don’t expect a revamp on par with the new iPad mini or iPad Air for 2020. You won’t find an all-screen design, USB-C, second-generation Pencil support, or an improved rear camera. This is for anyone who wants a no-frills tablet that should last a long time – if that’s all you’re after, you’ll probably be happy.
