Southwest Montana welcomes the destination’s first luxury resort with the opening of Montage Big Sky located in Big Sky, less than an hour from Yellowstone National Park. Surrounded by a vast wilderness, the resort sits on 3,530 acres and exudes a sense of luxury today with its signature amenities and beautiful style. Its ideal location offers guests year-round adventures from in and out of the ski area, three world-class Blue Ribbon fishing, an 18-hole private golf course, Montage Big Sky Spa Resort, mountain-inspired dining at six restaurants and venues and more.

With architecture by Hart Hurton and interiors by Brayton Hughes Design Studios, the resort’s color palette is a contemporary of a classic North American inn. Modern elements appear everywhere such as regional woods and stone that provide an elegant expression of the American West. It will feature 139 rooms, suites, and residences brilliantly decorated in rustic tones and a neutral color palette that sparkles through pops of color in small details. The 39 Montage Residences range in size from two to six bedrooms and feature high-end offerings such as state-of-the-art kitchens and fireplaces.

Snowboarders looking to hone their skills before hitting the slopes – can take part in excursions that include snowshoeing, snowshoeing, dog sledding, snowmobiling and more. In the warmer months, guests will have direct access to the Tom Weiskopf-designed golf course at the 18-hole Spanish Peaks Mountain Club, and can opt for guided tours of Yellowstone National Park, mountain biking, hiking, and world-famous fly fishing.

Programming and equipment is available through Compass Sports, the resort’s entertainment company, which assists guests with all of their equipment needs.

In an Alpine-inspired space with design touches like surfaces shaped like stripped boulders, and millwork that mimic the corners of snowy mountaintops, Spa Montage Big Sky is a destination that embraces wellness. The 10,000-square-foot spa features 12 treatment rooms (including two couples’ treatment rooms) and a full-service salon, plus an indoor pool, men’s and women’s relaxation areas, a heated plunge pool, and steam rooms. Spa-goers can choose from one-of-a-kind services like Peak Performance Recovery and CBD Mountain Ritual as well as access to a state-of-the-art fitness center and Yoga Lawn with a backdrop of Spanish Peaks and Lone Mountains.

Its six dining venues offer a bounty of cooking and beverage offerings, each honoring Montana’s rich agricultural heritage and wild bounty. The resort’s signature dining experience is Cortina, which offers an inviting atmosphere with cuisine that is representative of rural Northern Italy mixed with local flair. Dubbed the vibrant pink sunset that lights up the local mountains at sunset, Alpenglow is a cozy spot with glowing fireplaces, perfect for meals paired with local brews and handcrafted cocktails.

Those looking for classic pub fare such as wood-fired pizza and sumptuous desserts can head to Beartooth Pub & Rec for delicious meals along with rides from bowling to darts and vintage arcade games. The living room is a community hub located in the heart of the lobby, whose relaxed atmosphere invites guests to serve Montana-inspired bourbon tea and classic board games to play with friends and family. For takeaway or custom picnic baskets, Wildflower Market features local artisanal goods, while homemade ice cream is a must. Finally, Backcast Bar & Grille is scheduled to open in Summer 2022 and will offer al fresco dining showcasing classic barbecue and smoked cooking at its best.

The luxury resort is now open to offer guests a majestic mountain getaway. A place where adventure and ruggedness meet beauty and luxury in the heart of Montana’s Big Sky Country.
