Dota 2 has been updated with support for game consoles

Valve has some interesting ideas for the future of PC gaming, where instead of just being able to play in front of your computer or laptop, you might be able to play PC games on a portable console. The company has already tested this with Steam Link, an app that lets you stream Steam games from your PC to your phone.

They’re also working on the Steam Deck, which is a dedicated portable console that lets you play Steam games on the go. So much so that it wasn’t really surprising that the company is now preparing some of its games to support the introduction of the gaming console. In fact, the latest update for Dota 2 revealed this support.

According to Valve, Incorporating Continuum facts in mysterious ways, today’s update also introduces a world where an optional Dota can be played using a controller instead of the standard mouse + keyboard setup, giving players a new way to interact with their favorite combat. From choosing your hero to smashing a mistress, you can fight in Your way to victory in Dota is by connecting any PC console that allows Steam input (including PS / XBOX / Switch Pro consoles and more) and guiding your hero into battle.”

Valve notes that this is an experimental feature, so don’t be surprised if you run into some bugs, but it could be an alternative input method for those who might prefer to use a game console.
