Google employees who do not comply with COVID-19 vaccine rules will reportedly be fired


Google is giving employees until December 3rd to announce the status of the COVID-19 vaccine. Those who refuse vaccination or who fail to obtain a valid exemption will be placed on paid administrative leave for 30 days. Google will then put them on unpaid personal leave for up to six months and eventually fire them if they don’t really want to be vaccinated against COVID-19.

The tech giant reportedly made it clear in the memo that it is implementing its vaccine mandate to comply with the administration’s executive order. Under this order, all US companies with more than 100 workers must be fully vaccinated by January 18. While the order remains in limbo after courts blocked its implementation, Google may have simply chosen to go ahead with its plans to ensure compliance in the event that the order suddenly takes effect.

“We expect that nearly all roles at Google in the United States will fall within the scope of the Executive Order. Anyone who enters a Google building must be fully vaccinated or have an approved residence permitting them to work or come to the site… It is not a viable alternative to vaccination,” stated in the note.
