Next, Eve has a model of your home from the outside. The company claims that the Outdoor Cam is the first floodlit camera built specifically for HomeKit.
It uses the external camera, and when it detects activity, you will get a notification on your iPhone. It taps on-device intelligence in your Apple TV or HomePod to automatically record movements, and it can tell the difference between people, vehicles, pets, and packages.
Like its other products, Eve says, the camera was designed with data security in mind. The recordings are stored on iCloud and you can view them for up to 10 days via the Home app on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. There is end-to-end encryption, so only the owner can watch the live video and recordings.
The camera can record 1080p video at 24 frames per second. It has a field of view of 157 degrees and two-way audio communication. The outdoor camera can detect motion up to 30 feet away with its infrared night vision.
It’s not the only external camera that works with HomeKit Secure Video. The Netatmo outdoor camera does this, too. However, it is interesting to see a smart security camera that requires Apple devices to operate.
You can catch the Eve Outdoor Cam on April 5th from Eve and Amazon. Apple will sell the camera for $250 later.
In addition, Eve said that her motors for blackout curtains are now available from A. MotionBlinds requires an iPhone or iPad equipped with the latest version of iOS or iPadOS.
