Yes, I am a post author now, Darling.
My book is called celebrate! It is currently only available in continental Europe, which is why I am late to tell you. I’m waiting for it to be published in the UK, but I’m also waiting for my baby to come along and I’m sure now I know which one will be the first…
I’m on official maternity leave on Monday, so I just wanted to get this little “author’s update,” before I dive into a life of broken sleep, hugs, and cooing.
So, the book.
It’s about one of my favorite topics, festivals!
celebrate! The greatest festivals around the world
celebrate! It is a celebration of some of the many festivals around the world. Since I’ve attended 61 different festivals in 22 separate countries, it features many of my favorites – such as Dia de los Muertos, Las Fallas, SXSW and Glastonbury – as well as a few that I learned a lot about, but I’m waiting to experience.
celebrate! It is a coffee table book, published by the German publisher teNeus (pg. 25). It is currently only hardcover and is 207 pages long – filled with our most important tips and introductions. I give an insight into the festivals, there are a few great photos to see, and I hope to whet your appetite to experience more of the festivals this wonderful world has to offer.
Covering all kinds of festivals from religious, music, food, sports and national holidays, it’s a great book if you’re looking to spice up your future travels.
The book was already published some time ago in Germany, on the 15th of November, but I have been patiently waiting for its release here. I know how Daniel Craig feels.
The text in the book is in English and German. I wrote English which was then translated. As a big goal in life to write a book to be published in the traditional way, it was an honor for me when I got close to writing it, in the summer of 2021. It kept me busy when I had Covid anyway!

Unless you order from Continental Europe and pay the import duties, it’s a bit tricky at the moment (Amazon link, if you need).
I’m sure I’ll soon have some to give away as competition prizes, but like I said, I plan on taking at least three months of maternity leave from Monday, so we’ll see. Maybe a little summer competition to get you in the festival mood?
I will keep you updated when you land on UK online retailers.
It was great to be involved in the book publishing process, and who knows what it could lead to in the future!
So, with my new official name as VickyFlipFlop, the published author, I’m going to celebrate With a cup of hot chocolate. Fabulous!
