LG has some crazy ideas for its curved screens

We’ve seen how curved displays can be used for phones, TVs, and monitors, but what if they could be used for other things as well? This is something LG will be showing at CES 2022, and in an announcement from the company, they gave us a sneak peek into their plans.

This comes in the form of two concept rendering solutions, one of which is called Virtual Ride. This is basically a stationary bike, which we know can be boring as hell, but what LG has done is use three vertical OLED screens, to form a giant screen that extends over your head. This helps create an immersive scenario as you cycle and the view changes accordingly.

Since the screens start at the bottom and work their way up, with the top screen featuring a 500R curvature, the idea is that it’ll make you feel like you’re really outdoors, rather than moving farther into your bedroom.

The other is called the Media Chair which features a chair that houses a 55-inch OLED TV with 1500R curvature. As you can see in the image, the choice of screen and its curvature helps create a more cinema-like experience compared to your regular TVs and your couch. It can even switch between portrait and landscape orientation.

However, keep in mind that these are concepts, not products that can be purchased. It’s also a good way for LG to show how flexible and curved their displays can be in more futuristic concepts.
