OnePlus 10 Pro was practically launched at CES

The OnePlus 10 Pro is the most powerful smartphone “announced” at CES 2022. OnePlus says it will be officially launched a little later in the month, but the company has released enough information that we know exactly what to expect.

This high-end phone comes with the top-of-the-line Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 hardware platform which we talked about extensively in our Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 overview. This is unlike other devices announced at the show as they came with hardware or budget platforms last year.

I love the new matte design with the sleek camera module integration. It’s fair to say that OnePlus is following Samsung a bit here because it reminds us of the excellent S21 design, but with a OnePlus touch that I love.

We know the display will have a 120Hz OLED display, but the screen resolution or screen size has yet to be confirmed. Most observers believe we’ll find a 6.7-inch screen when all the details are revealed.

OnePlus didn’t mention a 5,000mAh battery and up to 80W/50W of charging power (wired/wireless) which is very fast, making it one of the best phones for battery life, on paper.

The camera was designed with the participation of Hasselblad, and it appears that the famous camera company contributed to the tuning and filters.

Camera hardware isn’t far behind OnePlus’ previous high-end phone, with three camera modules 48MP primary + 50MP ultrawide + 8MP telephoto.

I like the emphasis on Ultrawide image quality, and that’s a wide choice because Ultrawide is incredibly popular, much more so than, say, Macro.

We’ll have to see how the CAMERA HW result comes out, but things look promising.

However, it looks like there will be a strong focus on the “pro” aspects of the camera software, which necessitates more manual control options and saving images in RAW Plus format for maximum data preservation.

OnePlus is expected to reveal everything on or around January 10 as the phone is officially launched in China at that time.
