With features like smart home mapping and voice assistant control, iRobot’s Roomba i7 is among the best robotic vacuums you can get. As a relatively high-end device, it usually commands a very high price tag ($540) — but you can now pick one up on Amazon for just $399, for a $141 (26 percent) savings.

But the iRobot Roomba i7 at Amazon – $399

You can program the Roomba i7 to clean at certain times, or you can yell at Amazon’s Alexa or Google Assistant to start it up if there’s some unscheduled dirt. Once in operation, it is one of the quietest iRobot vacuums to date thanks to the change in motor position. Moreover, it is supposed to have twice the suction power as the Roomba 960.

It does a great job of avoiding obstacles and cleaning efficiently, thanks to its smart maps feature that can create an entire layout of your home. You can then name each area and ask them to clean only certain rooms. It is ideal if you have pets, as it is assumed that the multi-surface thief’s brushes will not tangle with pet hair. It also traps 99 percent of allergens from cat and dog dander.

The i7 won’t automatically empty its bag like the Roomba i7+ or j7+, but guess what: the latest model is still on sale for $649 ($200 off) on Amazon. The Roomba j7+ has many of the same features as the i7, but it can empty its trash into the trash that only needs to be emptied every two months. It also has a longer battery life and AI-powered vision that can detect pet waste and other nasty things. The only drawback is that it’s not quite as good for low-pile carpets like the i7, and it takes longer to charge.
