The Morning After: ‘Alan Wake 2’ Coming in 2023

Last night kicked off the 2021 Game Awards, mixing in the year’s winners (Take Two, Deathloop, Qena and many more) with new game trailers and incoming new releases, including (I’m finally playing through the original for now, so this caught my eye.)


We also got a release date for Final Fantasy VII Remake on PCAnd new Star Wars, Dune, and Star Trek games, and many (ten, in fact) Lady Gaga songs are coming. Saber won. There may be something for every player.

It might look like the Galaxy Fold.



Oppo has unveiled its first foldable smartphone nearly three years after unveiling a prototype of the device. The Find N resembles a device similar to Samsung’s Galaxy Fold lineup, which was built after “four years of extensive research and development and six generations of prototypes.” Expect to hear more next week at Oppo’s Inno Day on December 15th – which is a good thing because the company hasn’t shared many concrete specs yet.

He played a major role in the history of gaming hardware.

Masayuki Uemura, the lead creator of Famicom and Super Famicom (also known as NES and SNES), passed away on December 6 at the age of 78. Uemura, initially hired by Sharp, joined Nintendo after Gunpei Yokoi asked the company about Sharp’s use of solar cells to produce light weapons toys. Uemura joined Nintendo in 1971, and the company released gun games that included a home game called hunt ducks (Yes, the predecessor of the NES moniker.) By November 1981, Uemura was tasked with building a machine that would let you play arcade games on your TV. The result was the 1983 Famicom, known to the rest of the world as the Nintendo Entertainment System.

Alexa Internet has been around for 25 years.

Before Amazon’s Alexa was known as the company’s voice assistant, that was the name of its ranking website. It was founded in 1996 and became popular some time ago for analyzing web traffic and listing the most popular websites in the world.

While Amazon hasn’t explicitly stated why it’s shutting down the service, Alexa’s internet traffic has been in decline over the past decade. At least, the name will live on in Amazon’s smart speakers, displays, and the rest.

Paramount+ adds 18 live channels (just like TV). The initial installment includes one focused entirely on Star Trek, which will air episodes of new shows like Discovery And Piccard and classics like Project And next generation. (I’m not sure Project It’s a classic, but you know what I mean.) There are also franchise channels Survivor, challenge oh boy, paw patrol.
