Y-Brush shows off its second generation Y-shaped toothbrush concept

It’s been the better part of two years since Y-Brush began shipping, offering people a different way to brush their teeth. The device is shaped like a stabilizer filled with nylon bristles that you place in your mouth, promising to sanitize your komber in just 10 seconds. Now, at CES 2022, the company is showing off the concept of its second-generation device that will offer much more than its predecessor ever offered.

The new Y-Brush concept has bristles on either side of the retainer, which means users don’t need to pull the device out and flip it over to do the lower half of their mouth. Instead, you’ll just need to slide it to the sides a bit to ensure perfect coverage. Importantly, instead of just one program, this proposed new model will offer six vibration modes, including gum care, whitening and polishing.

The large base enables inductive charging and helps reduce tipping while sitting at the table, while the companion app will help you set different programs based on your brushing habits. Although the whole point of this thing is to shove it in your mouth and not do much at all, we’re not sure how useful that would be.

Right now, this second-generation Y-Brush is little more than a concept the company wants to showcase here at CES. But the idea is that this initial idea can be refined to be ready for the second generation of the brush, whenever that appears.
